Station Training Opportunity with PBS Digital Studios

Do you have a great idea for a digital series, but don’t know where to start in terms of production?

PBS Digital Studios has teamed up with filmmakers Travis Gilmour and Slavik Boyechko to create a two-day video production course for station personnel. The training will cover all aspects of shooting and editing a short documentary profile of a local personality - but the lessons will extend to other types of video productions.

During each of the station trainings, Travis and Slavik will film two videos for the series "Indie America," while walking through the steps for how to make them.

If selected for the training, PBS Digital Studios will cover the costs of training, as well as pre and post-production of the videos created during the training, and PBS Digital will cover the cost of travel for Travis and Slavik. All your station needs to do is set staff time aside for the training and be ready to work!

If you are interested in applying for this training opportunity, you can fill out this form. Applications are due April 24th, 2015. We'll announce the five stations which will receive training in early May. Your station can expect the actual trainings to be held before December 2015.

To learn more about the experience of past training recipients, check out this overview post from Slavik Boyechk, as well as a post from OETA.

If you have any questions regarding this opportunity, please contact your SPI rep or pbsi_spi@pbs.org.
