Frankenstein, MD Comes to Life

PBS Digital Studios will be launching a new series today at 12 p.m. ET/ 9 a.m. PST, and it promises to be monstrously good. Frankenstein, MD is a modern adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic novel, Frankenstein. In the show, promising medical student, Victoria Frankenstein, vlogs about her adventurous experiments. Episodes will be released on the PBS Digital Studios Youtube channel, so feel free to embed them on your site if you'd like.

As a way to engage superfans, Frankenstein, MD’s main characters, Victoria and Iggy, will each have social media accounts on various platforms, so be sure to follow the action through your station’s social media accounts!

Additionally, Victoria will run an in-world blog for the show, featuring posts from all the characters. It will serve primarily as a forum to explain some of the relevant science in broader terms, as well as a platform for additional character context. Victoria will post her inspiration for each experiment on the blog, so audiences get a sneak peak into what that week’s experiment might be.

Victoria and Iggy also both have Tumblr blogs. They use them to promote the show, in addition to reblogging from popular science blogs, pointing to relevant content, and of course, interacting with viewers.

The show also has its own Instagram account to post original photos and possibly short videos of Victoria and Iggy, as well as the science images used in the blog posts. Victoria and Iggy will also utilize their characters’ Twitter accounts to promote the series and engage in relevant plot-driven interactions between the other characters and viewers.
