Every year, PBS celebrates America with A Capitol Fourth on the west lawn of the US Capitol building, amidst all the national monuments. It's a grand event attended by countless people, both in person and over TV, but there's hardly any local station component.
Therefore, this year, we are turning the spotlight on you, the local PBS stations. Share photos with the hashtag #July4thPBS to show us (and everyone else) how you celebrate Independence Day in your community.
Share photos on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, or heck, even mail them to us and write #July4thPBS on the back! (haha, kidding...kinda). Regardless of where you share them, we'll find them (thanks to the magic of Tagboard), and we'll share them through our accounts as well.
Twitter: Share pix of your July 4th celebrations w/ hashtag #July4thPBS & let us know which PBS station you watch- PBS may feature your photos!
Facebook, Google+, etc.: We want to know -- how do you celebrate the July 4th holiday? With fireworks? get-togethers with family or neighbors? watching the (@)A Capitol Fourth concert on TV (or in person!)? Show us your photos by using the hashtag #July4thPBS and letting us know which PBS station you watch when you post on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Google+ or Vine.
PBS will be looking for these pics and may highlight yours on its social media platforms. Have a happy Fourth of July! We can't wait to see your #July4thPBS story!
