PBS Flickr, Video, Pop-Culture Buffs and Thinking Local

Looking to gain more station traction on Facebook? With photos driving so much social media engagement, we want to remind you about the PBS Flickr page and offer some creative ways to use the pictures. This could really increase your Shares which is a big key to social media success.

Pressed for time?  Share this email with pop culture buffs at your station so they can feed you shareable fun facts related to PBS Flickr-featured stars like Benedict Cumberbatch, Kathy Griffin, Kristin Chenoweth, Amber Riley, Carol Burnett, Keanu Reeves, Journey, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Tyler Oakley (Google him), and so many more from events like the Television Critics Association Press Tour. Chances are you can pair it with video clips on PBS.org, too. And PBS owns all of the photos, so there are no significant rights issues. Check them out here: PBS Flickr Photos

You don’t need fancy PhotoShop skills to make these pictures work for you. A lot can be done on smart phone photo apps like Over, Diptic or Typic.

Need help thinking of more LOCAL ANGLES?
Maybe “Selfridge” star Jeremy Piven has a connection to your market.

There’s a Google map with local connections to PBS talent, state by state. For example, Piven grew up in outside of Chicago and went to school in Iowa.
