With March underway, remember the end of the month brings a new caption deadline for IP-delivered video content, like that in COVE. This deadline deals specifically with archival content that was broadcast with captions and put online before the first caption deadline of September 2012.
The requirements of the March 30, 2014 deadline are triggered when this archival content is re-broadcast on television on or after March 30, 2014 and delivered via IP (online, mobile, etc.).
In January, PBS Digital hosted a webinar with more details on the upcoming deadline. Special thanks to Montana West at NHPTV, Kevin Crowley at WTTW, Jeff Tucker from Idaho PTV and David Dickinson at WPT for sharing their workflows, documentation, and tips with the group.

If you are unsure if your archived local content in COVE has captions, the SPI team has a handy spreadsheet with this info. Reach out to your SPI rep or email@example.com to request a copy.
