Explorer Custom Promo
PBS Digital’s Bento team announces the launch of an upgraded feature: Explorer Custom Promo Smart Snippet, which offers the ability to for 28 display options in one easy-to-use snippet. The new snippet replaces the 10 existing Explorer promo snippets, while expanding the options available to content editors.
The Explorer Custom Promo Smart Snippet will:
- Allow editors to display both Merlin and COVE content
- Work best with images that are 16:9 aspect ratio.
- Allow for greater flexibility. Users can decide whether they want details text, play icons, and images.
After adding your Explorer Custom Promo Smart Snippet to the page, select your display options and then select the layout, which will automatically display the required number of Merlin fields.
Change your mind about the layout? No problem, all metadata entered into the snippet is retained until you hit save. For example, if you select a two-item side-by-side promo, and decide to make it a three-item side-by-side, just choose the three-item option and the existing metadata will be preserved, and fields for the third will appear.
Explorer Favicon Smart Snippet
Bento now includes a Favicon Smart Snippet. When a Bento site is delivered to stations, users will see the Favicon Smart Snippet either in the First-In-Head or Extra-Head placeholders on the master page. Stations that have already launched will be contacted by a SPI Team Member. Non-Explorer sites can also use the Favicon Smart Snippet, therefore a team member will be contacting non-explorer stations as well.
